About Jeff Lang

Jeff Lang, born on November 9, 1969, in Geelong, Victoria, is a renowned Australian guitarist, singer-songwriter, and producer. His music seamlessly blends folk, blues, and rock elements, showcasing his exceptional guitar skills and emotive songwriting. Over his career, Lang has released over 25 albums, earning critical acclaim and a dedicated following.

Lang's innovative approach to guitar playing involves a unique amplification method. He combines built-in microphones with Sunrise magnetic pickups, allowing him to produce both clean acoustic and distorted electric tones from the same instrument. This technique has significantly influenced the Australian music scene, inspiring artists like John Butler.

Throughout his career, Lang has collaborated with various artists, including Chris Whitley, resulting in the 2006 album "Dislocation Blues." His work with Mamadou Diabate and Bobby Singh on the album "Djan Djan" won the ARIA Award for Best World Music Album in 2010. Lang himself is a three-time ARIA Award winner, with accolades for albums such as "Rolling Through This World" (2002) and "Carried in Mind" (2012).

In October 2024, Lang released his latest album, "More Life," a collaborative project featuring artists like John Butler, Liz Stringer, and Don Walker. The album showcases Lang's versatility and commitment to exploring new musical landscapes.

Lang's contributions to music extend beyond his recordings. He has performed at numerous international festivals, including the Dublin Blues Festival, Philadelphia Folk Festival, and Glastonbury Festival. His live performances are celebrated for their intensity and technical proficiency, solidifying his reputation as a compelling live artist.
